No28 bar is an award-winning late-night institution affectionately known as Newcastle city centre’s finest hidden gem open seven days a week from midday until 3am.

Located up a hidden staircase, tucked inside the entrance to the Grainger Market on Nelson Street; this is the perfect setting to enjoy a wide selection of drinks including cocktails, premium spirits, craft beers, a huge ‘fizz menu‘ and excellent great value food including our famous £6 small plates / tapas menu as well as excellent burgers from £5.  Our Sunday dinners are exceptional too. We were also the first venue in Newcastle to offer bottomless prosecco brunch and are still one of the best with start times as late as 8pm.

We are huge music lovers and will always be playing our handpicked playlists to set the right mood and turn into a boutique nightclub after 10pm on Friday & Saturday, we keep it going till late with a roster of some of the best DJs in the city and now and again we book someone extra special  (Jon Dasilva, Andy Weatherall, 808 State to name but a few in recent years).

We are independent and have been operating in Newcastle for over 30 years in one guise or another and just opened a sister venue downstairs called Friki Tiki which is a brand new Tiki bar.  Check it out on the way in (or out).

No28 is also available for parties of all sizes and guises.  We have lengthy – not to mention comfy – sofas set in our stunning garden-like patio area or the mezzanine/balcony area with a spectacular vantage point of the whole bar.  The mezzanine area can seat up to 30 people for private soirees overlooking the action.  We also have a raised area opposite the bar for much bigger get togethers and can provide tailored buffets.
